Marcy Protteau applies her academic background in resource economics, water policy and global environmental change to improve the management and environmental quality of local natural resources. Ms. Protteau investigated the environmental and economic impacts of green roofs on stormwater management in Los Angeles, identifying the most effective green roof implementations and making policy recommendations to local decision-makers. Additionally, she led crews to execute a long-term monitoring and assessment program to measure the success of the Crissy Field saltwater marsh restoration project in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Ms. Protteau earned a bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree from the Donald Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Her experience with water quality monitoring and project management gives her a strong technical foundation on which to build her work in the Lake Tahoe basin.
